Footing - Foundation Inspection

**This information includes most, but possibly not all requirements**
During your inspection the inspector will be looking for:

  • Site address marked, for locations see permit condition.
  • Building permit
  • Mason County approved building plans and site plan
  • All property lines clearly marked; string lines or flag every 15 to 20 feet.
  • Rebar and concrete forms, installed & completed per plans
  • Placement of structure complies to setbacks shown on Mason County planner approved site plan.
  • Hold down hardware installedper plans
  • Footing and wall size, where applicable
  • Retaining walls / foundations over 4 feet in height may require additional inspections / requirements

  • Mason County approved building plans and site plan
  • All property lines clearly marked; string lines or flag every 15 to 20 feet.
  • Rebar, hold downs and concrete forms installed per plan
  • wall size and reinforcement, per plan
  • Retaining walls/ foundations over 4 feet in height may require additional inspections / requirements
  • **Approved site plans are required to be on-site with the approved plans at all times**
  • Additional inspections may be necessary as required by the Building Official, Fire Marshal, other Mason County Department, or engineer or geologist of record.
  • All construction must conform to the Mason County approved building plans and is subject to field corrections.
