During your inspection the inspector will be looking for:

  • Site address marked, for locations see permit condition
  • Building permit
  • Mason County approved building plans and site plan
  • Electrical approved by Labor & Industries
  • Framing of structure complete: Structure weathered in - windows & doors installed, siding installed, notching & boring of wall, roof, and floor framing members completed, truss bracing installed per manufacturer, hold downs, anchor bolts and other required hardware installed per plan
  • Manufacturer specifications on-site including truss, fireplace/stove, furnace, etc.
  • Braced wall/shear panels installed per plan, interior braced wall panels properly connected to floor and ceiling.
  • Whole house and spot ventilation system
  • Attic & crawl space ventilation installed
  • Hose bibs installed
  • Fire blocking installed where required
  • Stairways installed with proper rise, run & width
  • Windows safety glazed where required
  • Egress windows installed in sleeping rooms
  • Wash. State Energy Code (WSEC) air sealing done
  • Mechanical & plumbing contractors license number
  • Combustion air openings, where required
  • HVAC Ducts installed, sealed and insulated
  • Equipment in garage, min. of 18" above floor & protected vehicle damage.
  • Gas lines under test
  • Propane tank installed with proper setbacks
  • Chimneys, flues, stacks and B-vent, installed per manufacturer specifications & insulation dams installed where needed.
  • Wallboard installed behind mechanical equipment where located at firewall.
  • DWV 1/4" slope per foot of pipe.
  • Ceiling insulation baffles installed.
  • Plumbing & mechanical equipment anchored & installed per manufacturer specifications.
  • Plumbing system roughed-in to code and under test.
  • Exhaust fans installed, insulated where required, and vented to exterior
  • Fire Marshal approval for cover when required.
  • **Approved site plans are required to be on-site with the approved plans at all times**
  • Additional inspections may be necessary as required by the Building Official, Fire Marshal, other Mason County Department, or engineer or geologist of record.
  • All construction must conform to the Mason County approved building plans and is subject to field corrections
