Mason County in partnership with citizen volunteers can reduce roadside litter and build civic pride in a litter-free road system in Mason County. If your volunteer organization is looking for a project to contribute to a cleaner environment and a more attractive Mason County please consider adopting a County road.

The County will provide trash bags, trash disposal and safety equipment for the volunteers and erect and maintain an Adopt-A-Road sign with the name of your organization prominently on the sign. Generally, the road section should be about 2 miles long with litter picked up at least 4 times a year. Adoptions are normally for a period of two years. Also, the volunteer organization cannot have a name that references a political party, endorses or opposes a particular candidate for public office or advocates a position on a specific political issue, initiative, referendum or piece of legislation.
